Centralised Batch Control and Batch Reporting for Custody Transfer Metering from within the Acquire™ HMI Supervisory
NORTHCHURCH, England, February 12 2008. Ambrit Ltd announced today that Acquire™ now features improved support for batch control and reporting for both ship loading and pipeline batching for oil and gas custody metering systems.
Managing batched gas, crude oil or refined product in a flowcomputer can be an arduous task. Flowcomputers, such as the Omni 6000 or Daniel FloBoss S600, tend to feature primitive batch scheduling and reporting capabilities. These limitations are compounded when the system comprises more than one flowcomputer.
Acquire™ v2.5 provides an integrated batch control capability which manages the batch schedule centrally and downloads batch information to each flowcomputer as needed.
Acquire™ provides real time updates to the operator as the batch progresses. When the batch completes, Acquire™ automatically downloads the batch report from the flowcomputer and retrieves all related the batch data into its own internal database. This information is used to automatically generate additional professionally formatted reports e.g. Bill of Lading and Delivery Reports.
Acquire™ also manages the sampler during the batch, sending out regular grab commands as the batch progresses to ensure an even spread of samples. The lab results produced from the samples can be easily entered back into Acquire™, which will then proceed to recalculate the batch results and regenerate the batch reports.
All completed batch reports and data are automatically archived for future reference. Complete revision control provides a fully auditable trail of historical batch information.
As well as batch control, Acquire™ now provides a gateway to interface with other computer systems involved in the batch process. Batches can be created using an external scheduling system and downloaded into directly into Acquire™. Acquire™ manages the batching process in the flowcomputers through to completion and then forwards the batch results on directly to an external accountancy system for invoicing.
Setting up batching in Acquire™ is easy. In fact, Acquire™ builds the whole batching and reporting interface automatically, regardless of the flowcomputer’s configuration, providing a high quality batch solution straight out of the box.
The batching feature is available as an optional extra in Acquire™. Customers with an extended support plan wishing to take advantage of this feature can upgrade to Acquire™ v2.5 free of charge and then purchase the extra batching functionality.
