Acquire™ v2.5 Ajax Updates

HMI Interface extended with Web 2.0 Support

NORTHCHURCH, England, May 3 2007. Ambrit Ltd today announced an upgrade to Acquire™ that improves web page updates with full support for Ajax technology.

Back in October 2000 there was no standard way of providing updates of real time data to the web browser. In order to solve the problem, Ambrit had to invent its own technology to overcome the limitation. In 2006, a formal approach named AJAX was adopted by the World Wide Web Consortium. AJAX technology now forms the basis of most Web 2.0 developments.

Although the previous updating mechanism in Acquire™ and Ajax were similar in their approach, Acquire™ v2.5 has now been adapted to take full advantage of the new Internet standard for maximum future compatibility.

Andrew Webb, Ambrit MD said “Looking back, Acquire™ was well ahead of its time. It was a Web 2.0 application 7 years ago, whereas other HMI solutions seem to still be struggling today with their own proprietary or Web 1.0 implementations.”

Ambrit Ltd is committed to providing solutions based on web-based standards wherever possible. Customers with an extended support plan wishing to take advantage of this feature can upgrade to Acquire™ v2.5 free of charge.
