Specify the fields as follows:
| RTU Name |
This is the name that will identify
the RTU on the system. |
| Configuration |
This is the configuration that the RTU
will use. Selecting the wrong configuration could cause the RTU to
loose communications or to exhibit strange behaviour. |
| Comms Protocol |
The communications protocol specifies
how Profile™ communicates with the RTU. This is either "TCP", "Serial" or "Modem". |
| IP Address (TCP only) |
This is the IP address of the RTU as
either the dotted address, eg "172.160.86" or hostname,
eg "rtu.yourdomain.com" |
| TCP Port (TCP only) |
This is the Modbus TCP port used to
communicate with the RTU. The normal Modbus port is 502. |
| Serial Port (Serial only) |
This is the serial port in the server
that the RTU is connected to, eg COM1. |
| Telephone No. (Modem only) |
This is the telephone number to dial
to contact the remote RTU. |
| Baud Rate (Serial/Modem only) |
This is the baud rate of the RTU. |
| Data Bits (Serial/Modem only) |
This is the number of data bits used
for the RTU. |
| Stop Bits (Serial/Modem only) |
This is the number of stop bits used
for the RTU. |
| Parity (Serial/Modem only) |
This is the parity settings for the
RTU. |
| Slave Address |
This is the slave address of the RTU.
Unless the RTU is connected through multidrop serial it is normally
set to 1. |
| RTU Timeout |
This is the number of seconds the server
will wait before signalling a timeout on the RTU |
| Collect Alarms Every |
This is the frequency that the system
will gather the alarms from the RTU. Typically this should be set
to 2 seconds. If slow connections are being used or if there are
many RTUs then this number should be increased to give the connections
a chance to be serviced. |
| Collect Chart Data Every |
This is the frequency that the system
will gather the chart data from the RTU. Typically this should be
set to 1 minute. If slow connections are being used or if there are
many RTUs then this number should be increased to give the connections
a chance to be serviced. |
