Adding a Modem

Modems can be setup with their communications settings.

Adding a Modem

Specify the fields as follows:

Field Description
Modem Name This is the name used to identify the modem.
Serial Port This is the serial port that the modem is connected to.
Baud Rate This is the baud rate settings used to communicate with the modem (not the RTU). This is normally set to be as high as possible.
Data Bits These are the number of data bits required to communicate with the modem (not the RTU). This is normally set to "8".
Stop Bits These are the number of stop bits required to communicate with the modem (not the RTU). This is normally set to "1".
Parity This is the parity required to communicate with the modem (not the RTU). It is normally set to "None".
Dial Timeout This is the period of time allowed before the dialling times out. This is entered in seconds.

To save the modem settings:

  • Click the 'Save' button.

To discard changes to the modem settings:

  • Click the 'Cancel' button.
