Editing Alarms


Specify the fields as follows:

Field Description
Alarm Name The alarm name is the text that will appear when the alarm occurs. It defaults to the name of the field.
Field The field is the field in the RTU that will determine whether the alarm is set or not. To choose a different field click the 'Select' button.
Stream Profile™ automatically maps the alarm to a stream based on the alarm's field name. To allocate the alarm to a different stream, select the stream from the popup menu. Once an alarm has been mapped, the user can filter the alarms list by clicking down the Inventory™ menu.
Alarm Group Profile™ groups the alarms into four different categories that have different colour codes. The alarm groups are Process (red), System (orange), Computer (yellow) and Profile™ (blue).

To allocate the alarm to an alarm group, select the desired alarm group from the popup menu.
Critical Alarms Critical Alarms trigger an email notification as soon as the alarm occurs. Check the 'Critical Alarms' checkbox to indicate the alarm is critical.
Clear If Accepted Clicking this checkbox will automatically cause the alarm to clear as soon as it is accepted. This is useful for notifying the user that an event has occurred.
Suppressed Click the 'Suppressed' checkbox to prevent the alarm from occurring.

To save the alarm:

Click the 'Save' button.

To discard changes to the alarm:

Click the 'Cancel' button.
