Setting up Audit Inspection Criteria

After starting a new audit the next step is to set up the audit inspection criteria.

The New Audit screen shows the audit structure, and allows you to edit the audit criteria, delete the audit, print a copy, save the audit, or release it for auditing:

If you are creating a new audit the structure will automatically contain the following sections:

1.0 Introduction

2.0 Items from Previous Audit.

If you are creating an audit from a template or a previous audit the structure will contain the contents of the template or previous audit.

Editing the Audit Criteria
The Add Section, Add Subsection, Remove Section, and Edit Section buttons allow you to edit the audit criteria.

For more information see Editing the Audit Criteria.

Deleting the Audit
If you decide not to proceed with an audit you can delete it, in which case it will not be displayed in the Audit Reports list.

To delete an audit:

  • Click the 'Delete' button on the New Audit screen.

You will be asked to confirm that you want to delete the audit.

  • Click the 'OK' button to proceed or the 'Cancel' button to leave the audit unaffected.

Note: If you delete an audit the next audit will be numbered with the next sequential number.

Saving the Audit
To save an audit:

  • Click the 'Save' button on the New Audit screen.

This will return to the Audit Reports screen; see Starting a New Audit.

Releasing the Audit
When the audit inspection criteria have ben completed the audit can be released to the head Auditor for allocation to an Auditor.

To release the audit from the New Audit screen:

  • Click the 'Release' button.

You will be prompted to confirm that you want to release the audit.

  • Click the 'OK' button to release the audit or the 'Cancel' button to cancel the operation.

The status of the audit changes from New Audit to Ready, and the structure of audit criteria is locked against further changes.

Once the audit has been released the Auditor Manager must allocate an auditor to perform the audit.
