File Structure

About Acquire Installation File Organisation

The Acquire™ installer will install all its files to the C:\Acquire folder.

It is highly recommended that this default structure is left intact. This enables Ambrit Ltd to provide support and to know where all the important files can be found.

Acquire.EXE

The Acquire.EXE file is the main program. To launch Acquire click on this file.

Acquire.4DD

The Acquire.4DD file is located in the 'Database' folder. This is where the configuration and data is stored. It is also paired with a file called Acquire.4DR, in the same folder. These two files are the only ones that need to be backed up.

Webfolder

The webfolder contains all the image files that are used by the web server. If you have a custom theme move the file into this folder and select it from the server preferences screen.

Backups Folder

We recommend that you backup your data files regularly. When you copy the Acquire.4DD and Acquire.4DR files into this folder we world recommend that you put them into subfolder called 'Acquire ddmmyy' so they can be identified easily.

Note: This backup folder can be put on a different volume, however if you do this create a shortcut to it in this folder

Logs Folder

The Logs folder is created the first time that you run Acquire™. Each log channel has its own subfolder. A log file is created for each log channel for every day that the system is running.

Reports Folder

The Reports folder is also created the first time that Acquire™ is run. This is the default folder that reports are created. It is highly recommended that the reports folder is created on a different volume.

Note: If the Reports folder is put on a different volume, please create a shortcut to it in this folder.
