Server Preferences - Time Synchronization

Acquire™ can synchronize the time between the server and the flowcomputers in several different ways.

The following settings are available in the Time Synchronization tab:

Field Description

Get Time From

By default, Acquire™ does not attempt to do any time synchronization, in case it is being installed into a system where a DCS is handling the time synchronization. Either the Acquire™ server or any of the flowcomputers can act as the primary time server.

If Acquire™ is selected to set the time it uses the computers system clock as the base time and sets the time of each of the flowcomputers.

If a flowcomputer is selected as the time master, Acquire will read the time from the flowcomputer, set its local clock and then synchronize the other flowcomputers accordingly.

S600: Please ensure that the S600 has been setup with the correct time and date fields. These are missed out of their default modbus map and should be added manually.

Sync time

It is also possible to set the time the synchronization should occur. This should be after midnight to allow for Daylight Saving Time changeovers.
Synchronize with Server 2 When using redundant Acquire servers, allows synchronization with the redundant server to be suspended.
Synchronize now Clicking the 'Synchronize Now' button gets the time from the time master and synchronizes the time with the other devices immediately.
