Setting Up Flow

Valve states and flow from the pipes are also displayed. If the pipe is flowing (i.e. all valves are open) then Acquire™ will trace the flow through the open pipes.

Flow starts from a start interface and traces through to an end interface:

Flow will flow through any pipe between the start and end interfaces:

Flow will occur as soon as the start and interface are linked.

Placing a closed valve on the pipe will block the flow:

Flow will automatically be shown once the valve is opened or moving.

Furthermore interfaces can be marked as either inlets or outlets. Flow will start from an inlet and flow to an outlet. By default an interface is both an inlet and an outlet.

This will prevent the problem where two outlet interfaces flow between themselves:

Double click on the interface icon bring up the device properties screen that will allow the subtype of the interface to be changed.
