Adding Multiple P&IDs

Acquire can have up to 9 P&ID views of each metering station. This feature is available as an optional extra.

Select 'P&ID...' from the 'Acquire' menu.
With the P&ID open, select 'Setup P&ID's...' from the 'File' menu.

P&ID Screen Setup

Highlight an empty screen by clicking on it in the grid. The empty P&ID screen border will go red.
Click the 'Add' button to create a new P&ID view.

This will add a blank P&ID named "New PID".

Highlight the P&ID name
Type the amended P&ID name

Highlight a view by clicking on it in the grid so its P&ID screen border becomes red.
Click the 'Delete' button to remove the highlighted P&ID view

Furthermore it is possible to link two interfaces together and thus linking two P&ID views together:

In this case, flow starts at the inlet and then goes down a "worm hole" reappearing at the other end of the link and then through to the outlet. Normally Interface links would appear on different P&ID views and would link the flow between the two screens. Additionally clicking on a link will take the user through to the other P&ID.

To define an interface as a link, double click on the interface to bring up the device properties window:

Select 'Link' from the 'Subtype' menu.
Enter a 'Link Description'
Select the P&ID View that you want to link to from the 'Link PID' menu.
Select the corresponding link from the 'Link Device' menu.

Note: The first link will obviously not have anything to link to. Once the second interface has been marked as a link, Acquire™ will automatically join the two interfaces together.

If more than one stream is selected Acquire™ will display the streams on a common header. Acquire™ can also handle individual runs for each stream. These can be drawn manually by adding more start and end manifolds at the beginning of each stream. Alternatively if no station totals have been selected in the 'Add Station' screen individual headers will be drawn automatically.
