Device Palette

The device palette allows the user to place new devices onto the P&ID editor by simply dragging and dropping the icon on to the right place on the P&ID.

Opening the Device Palette

Select 'P&ID...' from the 'Acquire' menu.
To open the device palette, select 'Show Device Palette' from the 'P&ID' menu or type Ctrl+T.

To close the window click the 'x' icon in the window titlebar.

Tip: If the screen resolution of the editor is greater than 1024 x 768 the object palette will be opened in a position that does not overlap the P&ID editor.

Customise the P&ID

Any of the icons on the P&ID can be repositioned. New icons can be introduced onto the P&ID from the pallet.

To add a new icon:

Drag the icon from the palette onto the P&ID.

Tip: Some devices, e.g. orifice meter, are two cells high and should be positioned accordingly i.e. if the user drags the top icon, they should ensure that the device is placed into the top position (and vice versa).
