Multiple Control Valves

The multiple control valve screen is a specialised screen template that allows the operator to control several control vavles on a single screen.

Adding a Multiple Control Valve screen.

  • Select 'Screen Setup' from the 'File' menu.
  • Select the menu to add the screen.
  • Click the'Add Screen' button.

  • Chose the 'Multiple Control Valve' template.
  • Enter a name of the screen in the 'Screen Name' field.
  • Click 'OK' to close the 'Add Screen' screen.
  • Click 'OK' to close the 'Screen Setup' screen.

Setting up the Multiple Control Valve Screen

Use the Acquire menus that you have just created to navigate to the new multiple control valve screen.

Adding Control Valves

To add control valves to the screen:

  • Double click on the grey area on the left hand side of the screen. This will allow you to select the valve to use.

  • Select the valve from the popup menu. Note: The valve must have been created on the P&ID first.
  • Add each valve in turn.
  • If you have more than 4 valves click the 'Display Eight Valves' checkbox.

Setting Up Measured and Setpoint Area

To setup the measured and setpoint levels:

  • Double click on eith the measured or setpoint area on the left hand side of the screen. This will allow you to set the fields to use.

  • Double click on each row in turn to allocate the fields.

Specify the field as follows:

Field Description
PID Mode This field indicates which parameter should be used to control.

Set the value of this field to be:
1 - Flowrate
2 - Inlet Pressure
3 - Outlet Pressure
Control Mode This field indicates whether the field is in manual or automatic mode.

Set the value of this field to be:
1 - Manual
2 - Automatic
Flowrate Value This is the measured flow rate field.
Flowrate Setpoint This is the flow rate setpoint that should be maintained while the valve is in automatic mode. If the mode is automatic this field is not used.
Flowrate Maximum This is the maximum flow rate.
Flowrate Minimum This is the minimum flow rate.
Inlet Pressure Value This is the inlet pressure field.
Inlet Pressure Setpoint This is the inlet pressure setpoint that should be maintained while the valve is in automatic mode. If the mode is automatic this field is not used.
Inlet Pressure Maximum This is the maximum inlet pressure.
Inlet Pressure Minimum This is the minimum inlet pressure.
Outlet Pressure Value This is the outlet pressure field.
Outlet Pressure Setpoint This is the outlet pressure setpoint that should be maintained while the valve is in automatic mode. If the mode is automatic this field is not used.
Outlet Pressure Maximum This is the maximum inlet pressure.
Outlet Pressure Minimum This is the minimum outlet pressure.
