Profile™ 2.0 Modem Support

Real Time Data from Remote RTU over Dial Up Modem

NORTHCHURCH, England, March 12 2007. Ambrit announces dial up modem support for connecting to remote RTUs in Profile™. The reach of Profile™ has been extended to include support for dial up modems, further increasing the diverse range of network topologies supported by the application.

Operators can now quickly and easily navigate to remote RTUs using the their web browser. Profile™ automatically initiates the dial up connection in the background to retrieve real time data, alarms and reports etc.

Profile™ can effortlessly manage multiple modem connections simultaneously; automatically connecting to remote RTUs each time data is requested or whenever there are reports scheduled to be downloaded.

Andrew Webb, Ambrit's CEO, stated "Many customers still rely on dial up modems as an economical way to retrieve information from their isolated RTUs, but getting data back from them has always proven to be difficult. Profile™ makes it easy for the operators to use get the data they need without them knowing how to connect to it and get it."

Modem support is provided as a standard feature in Profile™. Customers with an extended support plan can upgrade free of charge to take advantage of this new feature, although extra RTU licences may be required.
