Acquire™ 2.4 Redundant Server

Internet Technology ensures HMI Maximum Uptime

NORTHCHURCH, England, January 2007. In larger metering systems, the HMI is a critical component and must remain running at all costs. Ambrit is pleased to announce the availability of the latest version of the Acquire™ HMI application with built in support for redundant servers and redundant networks. The solution takes full advantage of the latest Internet technology to ensure that the servers are running 100% of the time.

"I don't really like to describe the servers as being redundant, as both servers are running all the time." Andrew Webb, Ambrit CEO announced at the product launch, "In fact it doesn't matter which server your browser selects, either one will show the same HMI data and if one server goes down, the user is instantly moved to the other server - they don't even see the bump, all they see is an alarm telling them that that is what happened! It's quite amazing to see just how graceful the switch over is!"

As you would expect from Acquire™, setting up a redundant pair of servers is just as easy as setting up a single server, with the second server automatically bursting into life once the first HMI has been configured, with data, reports and alarms automatically synced between each server in real time.
