NORTHCHURCH, England, October 10 2006. Acquire™ can be accessed from a standard web browser which is very useful for remote users of the system such as management, but in a control room environment, where the HMI is an important part of the system instrumentation, the browser has to be locked down to keep it focused only on the HMI. "To help our system integrators find a solution to this problem we took it on ourselves to develop our own browser that could be fully locked down therefore preventing access to the underlying operating system and other web pages," said Scott Moxham, Ambrit software engineer.
