Acquire™ Web Enables Advantica's GasPT™

Advantica's GasPT™ joins the growing range of supported RTUs

NORTHCHURCH, England, February 24 2004. Advantica's innovative Gas Properties Transmitter, GasPT™, is the latest device to benefit from Ambrit's Acquire™ technology.

The GasPT system measures physical properties of a gas mixture and determines the effective gas mixture comprising four components: methane, propane, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. From the effective gas mixture, the system uses the standard ISO 6976 to compute gas quality, characteristics, calorific value, Wobbe Index, relative density and compression factor.

Using Acquire, this information can be made available securely in real time over private Intranet networks or the Internet. The real time data is presented in tables and charts allowing parties with the required access privileges to access all of the GasPT parameters. System data, alarms and events are recorded and stored for future access. Acquire provides GasPT with a modern state-of-the-art interface. This stand-alone capability is easily extended to the full Acquire technology allowing the integration of GasPT into more complex measurement systems.

Ken Miller of Advantica commented, "Ambrit's Acquire solution to web-enable GasPT is impressive. It was implemented quickly with little effort to provide a leading edge, global interface to Advantica's state-of-the-art device."

A web-enabled GasPT is currently installed with Advantica in the East Midlands and at the Advantica Flow Centre at Bishop Auckland. Online demonstrations of this system can be arranged by contacting GasPT@advantica.biz or calling +44 (0)1509 282167.
