METCO Launch Inspect™
Web Enabled Metrology Audit Tool Launched
ABERDEEN, Scotland, September 8 2003. Offshore Europe 2003 week saw METCO Services Ltd launch their latest Metrology Asset Management tool: Inspect™, the second in a suite of four proposed web enabled metrology asset management products. Inspect™ was introduced during a series of presentations to invited guests at METCO's Denmore Road facility.
Inspect™ enables METCO to streamline the metrology audit process, especially where multiple parties have an interest in the outcome of an audit. The work involved in managing the process and the dissemination of audit data is a time consuming and demanding responsibility. The requirement for increased accuracy and accountability has continued unabated but the management tools for rapid, interactive audit reporting have not kept pace. Until now!
METCO have been on the leading edge of metrology audit implementation for many years, both managing and carrying out audits for the world's leading oil and gas operators. In the pursuit of improvement METCO, once again in collaboration with Ambrit Ltd. specialists in the development of web database solutions, have now introduced Inspect™, an interactive environment where client representatives, auditors in the field and audit managers can share key audit information regardless of location.
The Inspect™ server can be accessed using secure Internet or private Intranet networks using standard browser technology. The audit process is controlled by the Inspect™ server from initiating the audit criteria and managing the corrective actions, through to issuing the final report.
Webspring™, the foundation technology on which Inspect™ is based, ensures stringent security using intuitive interfaces with high-speed interaction. Inspect™ is one of many systems developed by Ambrit in the past five years that benefit from the Webspring™ heritage.
Gerry Inglis, Business Director of METCO Services Ltd., revealed, "We plan to implement most METCO metrology audits with Inspect™ from now on. The improvement in detail, client interaction, quality of response and data analysis that Inspect™ allows should allow both improved measurement management and more cost effective operation."
