Acquire™ Gains Omni's Badge of Approval
Acquire™ is badged as the Omni Flow Computers HMI
NORTHCHURCH, England, July 8 2003. Ambrit Ltd., in co-operation with Omni Flow Computers Inc., launched an Omni version of Acquire™. This version carries the Omni badge and is available exclusively, world wide from Omni Flow Computers Inc. Omni's Acquire™ has been developed to work with the full range of Omni flow computer technology.
"When I first saw Acquire™ in October 2002 I was immediately impressed by the worldwide potential for this innovative product" revealed Alan McCartney, President of Omni Flow Computers Inc. "Here was an Internet technology-driven systems solution that is a flow measurement product in every sense of the word. Acquire™ is a security-minded product that enables systems integrators and company IT professionals to create complex, interactive HMI's for network or remote stand-alone systems with consummate ease and without the costly burden of custom software."
Acquire™ provides a window into process systems, interfacing directly with Flow Computers, Smart Transducers and PLC's to retrieve data and present it as P&ID's, charts and tabular data. Using local Intranet or extending the boundaries via the Internet this secure real-time application connects process to operations, management and technical support using conventional browser technology as the man machine interface. Acquire™ builds a complete flow measurement HMI in minutes, integrating a suite of Omni flow computers into a complete system. Information is immediately available using a graphic rich interface via a web browser. Acquire™ makes custom software redundant employing auto configuration and drag and drop editing throughout, to reduce cost of ownership to a minimum.
Ken Elliott, Vice President, Engineering & Technology, of Omni Flow Computers Inc., observed "Acquire™ and Omni flow computers are a natural fit, and I am particularly interested in how Acquire™ will integrate with Omni's new SmartBus® range of flow controllers. Our focused software has always led the rest of the industry. Future systems using Omni flow products will have tremendous versatility, high performance communications and superb graphics allowing unprecedented access and control of flow measurement data. Acquire™ takes data acquisition and control to a new level of performance, reliability and secure accessibility."
On behalf of Ambrit Ltd. Barry Webb stated, "This is a great opportunity for both companies. Ambrit benefits from Omni's undoubted stature in the flow measurement market. Omni has gained access to a new technology, one which I believe is a technology watershed, changing the way this industry will create systems in the future."
